Rotondi jacket pressing machines
Underpressing and offpressing for lapels, shoulders and body shaping, from semi-automatic presses up to automated carousels for production volume.
Rotondi Group jacket pressing machines are supplied and supported in South Africa by Universe Corp.
Rotondi Group manufactures entirely in Italy. Universe Corp is the authorised South African distributor, which means the warranty is real, the parts are genuine and the installation is done by our own technicians.
What Rotondi makes for this
Men's jacket underpressing
Presses for the internal components: front panels, back panels, sleeves and shoulders. This is the step that creates the shape a finished jacket holds, and it is where a manufacturer's quality is actually decided.
- Front panel underpressing
- Back panel and sleeve presses
- Shoulder pressing equipment
- Air-operated presses
Men's jacket offpressing
Final pressing for retail-ready presentation, after the garment is assembled.
Ladies' jacket pressing
Equipment shaped for ladies' tailoring, where the shoulder and bust shaping differ from menswear and a men's form will not do.
Automated carousel presses
Multi-station carousels for garment manufacturers running jacket volume, where load and unload happen while another station presses.

Answers before you enquire
- What is the difference between underpressing and offpressing?
- Underpressing is done to the internal components before the jacket is assembled — front panels, back panels, sleeves and shoulders. It is the step that creates the shape the finished garment holds. Offpressing is the final press after assembly, for retail-ready presentation. A manufacturer needs both; a dry cleaner is usually only doing the second.
- Can I press ladies' jackets on men's equipment?
- Not well. The shoulder and bust shaping differ enough that a men's form will not give the right line, which is why the range carries dedicated ladies' jacket equipment rather than an adjustment to the menswear machine.
- When does a carousel press pay for itself?
- When the volume is high enough that an operator waiting for a press to cycle is the constraint. A multi-station carousel lets loading and unloading happen while another station presses, so the machine is never idle. Below that volume, a semi-automatic press is the better buy.
