Dry cleaning and finishing equipment for Zimbabwe

Harare is about eight hours from Johannesburg through Beitbridge, the busiest land border in Southern Africa. For Bulawayo the route through Botswana and Plumtree is often quicker.

Universe Corp has supplied Zimbabwean dry cleaners, hotels and lodges from Johannesburg since 1985. Beitbridge can be slow at the wrong time of year, and where the destination allows it we will route a consignment around it rather than let it sit in a queue.

Getting equipment there

The primary route runs on the N1 to the Beitbridge border post on the Limpopo, with transit to Harare of roughly eight hours in total. Beitbridge is the busiest land crossing in Southern Africa and our transporters know its procedures. For Bulawayo, an alternative through Botswana and the Plumtree border post avoids Beitbridge entirely and is sometimes faster. Eastern Zimbabwe including Mutare and the Eastern Highlands can be reached on the same corridors.

Why here

Why Zimbabwe buys from Wynberg

  • We route around Beitbridge when it helps

It is the busiest land crossing in Southern Africa and it queues. For Bulawayo the Plumtree route through Botswana is often quicker, and we will use it rather than let a machine sit at a border.

  • Forty years of the same trade

Universe Corp has sold nothing but dry cleaning, laundry and finishing equipment since 1985. Harare and Bulawayo operators have been buying from us for most of that.

  • Genuine parts, held here

Authorised distribution for ten manufacturers, with the wear parts on the shelf in Johannesburg rather than ordered when something fails.
