The gap this fills
A great many South African dry cleaners, tailors and boutique hotels run one or two pressing positions. A central boiler for two stations is expensive to buy, expensive to run and mostly idle. A compact steam station gives those positions proper continuous steam without any of that, and it plugs into a normal supply.
Ironing tables
A professional ironing table is heated, vacuumed and frequently blown. The vacuum holds the garment against the table and pulls steam through the cloth so the fibres set as they cool; the blowing function supports a garment that must not be flattened. This is what separates a finished garment from a damp one.
Growing out of it
There is a point, usually around the third station, where a central boiler becomes cheaper than another compact unit. It is worth knowing where that point is before you buy the second one.
