Dry cleaning and finishing equipment for Zambia
Landlocked, but two established corridors run to it from Johannesburg. Lusaka is two to three days by road, and the Copperbelt is a further leg north.
Universe Corp has supplied Zambian mines, hotels and dry cleaners from Johannesburg since 1985. Copperbelt laundry work is genuinely heavy duty, and it is worth sizing the machine for the load it will actually see rather than the one on the brochure.
Industries we serve in Zambia
Mining and the Copperbelt
Copper and cobalt mining employs tens of thousands whose uniforms, workwear and protective clothing are laundered industrially. Camps and accommodation around Kitwe and Ndola need high-capacity machines that hold up under heavy daily loads.
Hotels and tourism
International hotel brands are expanding in Lusaka, and the Livingstone and Victoria Falls corridor draws visitors year round.
Dry cleaners
Lusaka's dry cleaning trade, serving corporate, diplomatic and residential customers.
Hospitals and healthcare
Medical linen processed to a repeatable standard, where the wash temperature and the record of it both matter.

Getting equipment there
Two road corridors connect Zambia to Johannesburg. The primary route runs north through Zimbabwe, crossing at Beitbridge and entering Zambia at Chirundu, with road freight to Lusaka usually taking two to three days. An alternative passes through Botswana and crosses the Zambezi at Kazungula, which suits western Zambia and Livingstone. Copperbelt consignments transit Lusaka and continue north to Kitwe and Ndola.
Why Zambia buys from Wynberg
Sized for Copperbelt duty, not brochure duty
Mining workwear is the heaviest laundry load we quote for. A machine rated on a hospitality duty cycle will not survive it, and we would rather quote the right one than the cheaper one.
Two corridors, chosen per destination
Beitbridge and Chirundu for Lusaka and the Copperbelt; Kazungula through Botswana for the west and Livingstone. Two to three days either way.
Parts do not wait on Europe
Spares are held in Wynberg and travel the same corridor the machine did.
Equipping something in Zambia?
Tell us the daily load, especially if it is Copperbelt workwear. Sizing that correctly is most of the quote.
Before you ask
- How long does road freight to Lusaka take?
- Two to three days on the primary route: north through Zimbabwe, crossing at Beitbridge and entering Zambia at Chirundu.
- Is there an alternative to the Chirundu route?
- Yes. Through Botswana, crossing the Zambezi at Kazungula, which suits western Zambia and Livingstone better than the Chirundu corridor does.
- Do you deliver to the Copperbelt?
- Copperbelt consignments transit Lusaka and continue north. It adds to the transit rather than changing the corridor.
