- What’s the difference between top load and front load commercial washing machines?
- Top load models (like the Speed Queen SWNMN2) feature the longest agitation arc in the industry and are ideal for traditional laundromat operations. Front load models offer higher spin speeds (up to 1400 rpm), lower water usage, and programmable cycles. They’re perfect for gyms, salons, and commercial operations requiring customizable washing programs and maximum extraction efficiency.
- Do the front load industrial washing machines need to be anchored to the floor?
- No. The Tullis WH-10 E high-spin floating washer extractor is very easy to install since it does not need to be anchored to the floor. It can be installed and leveled easily with the leveling feet, or by utilizing one of the multiple plinths offered as an option. All front load models are 100% freestanding with no complicated installation procedures.
- Which model is best for limited space?
- The Tullis WMC 8943 is the most compact option at 595 × 706 × 850 mm, making it ideal for tight spaces. If you need even more space savings, stacked washer/dryer combinations are available where space prohibits multiple single washers and dryers. Your Unicorp consultant can help you select the right configuration based on your available space.
- What electrical requirements do I need for these industrial washing machines?
- All models are available in both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (400V) configurations. Three-phase models offer lower amperage requirements and are more energy efficient for commercial operations. Your Unicorp consultant will advise on the best electrical configuration for your site during the quotation process.
- How many programmable cycles do the laundry machines offer?
- It depends on the model. The Tullis WH-10 E offers 99 programmable cycles for maximum flexibility, the WMC 8943 offers 26 cycles with an intuitive TFT display, the Speed Queen NF3J has 6 cycles with Quantum Gold controls, and the top load SWNMN2 has 2 standard cycles with timer controls. More cycles allow greater customization for different fabric types and soil levels.
- Do you handle installation and commissioning?
- Yes. Unicorp coordinates delivery, site planning, installation, and commissioning across South Africa. Operator training is included to ensure your team can operate the commercial washing machines safely and effectively from day one.
