Thermo-Seal tape is Thermopatch’s heat-activated tape for temporary marking of textiles in dry cleaning and wet-wash processes. Used with Y-series and Bunny marking machines. Available in 11 colours, two widths (1/4 inch TS4635 and 1/2 inch TS8635), 120 ft per roll, 6 rolls per pack. Removes cleanly without adhesive residue. Stocked locally in Johannesburg by Unicorp, the authorised South African distributor for Thermopatch (an Avery Dennison company).

Thermopatch Thermoseal tape is professional temporary marking tape designed for Thermoseal marking machines including Y-151, Y-600, Y-300, Y-140, Y-130 Rabbit, Y-126, Y-120 series, Bunny T6, and Bunny T-12 models. Developed specifically for temporary marking of textiles in dry cleaning and wet wash processes, this cotton fabric tape with wash-resistant and dry-cleaning-resistant ink adhesion adheres perfectly to most textiles and removes cleanly after processing without leaving residue. Available in 11 colors (white, tan, blue, gray, lavender, yellow, green, red, orange, pink, and gold) for efficient color-coded sorting systems, Thermoseal tape withstands washing up to 95°C and dry cleaning processes. Supplied in two widths (1/4 inch and 1/2 inch) with rolls packaged 6 per color at 36 meters length, this temporary marking tape is supplied in South Africa by Unicorp for commercial laundry and dry cleaning operations.

Thermoseal tape is specifically engineered for temporary textile marking in commercial laundry and dry cleaning operations. The cotton fabric construction with proprietary adhesive layer accepts wash-resistant and dry-cleaning-resistant ink from Thermoseal temporary marking machines, creating durable labels that withstand processing temperatures up to 95°C and dry cleaning solvents. The tape adheres firmly to cotton, polyester cotton blends, loose weave polyester, and wool fabrics during the cleaning process, maintaining secure attachment and legible printing throughout washing or dry cleaning cycles. After processing is complete, the tape removes cleanly without leaving adhesive residue on textiles, ensuring garments are returned to customers unmarked. The 11 available colors enable comprehensive color-coded sorting systems, preventing sorting errors and reducing labor time by allowing visual identification of customer categories, service types, delivery routes, or workflow stages without needing to read individual labels.

Compact temporary marking tape for Y-600, Y-151, Y-140-B, Y-130 Rabbit, Y-126, and other compatible Thermoseal marking machines. The 1/4 inch width is ideal for small marking areas, discreet labeling, or applications where minimal tape visibility is desired. Available in all 11 colors. Each roll is 36 meters (120 feet) long. Supplied in packages of 6 rolls per color. Heat seal at 175°C for 2.7 to 4.5 seconds at 0.5 kg/cm² pressure.

Questions

Answers before you enquire

How does Thermoseal tape differ from permanent marking systems?
Thermoseal tape is designed for temporary marking during the cleaning process and removes cleanly afterward without leaving residue. Permanent marking systems (like HiQ tape or Hytex) are designed to remain on garments indefinitely for ongoing identification such as hotel linen, uniforms, or workwear tracking. Thermoseal is ideal for dry cleaners and laundries that need to track customer garments during processing but must return them unmarked.
What is the advantage of 11 different colors?
The 11 available colors enable comprehensive color-coded sorting systems that reduce sorting time and prevent errors. Different colors can represent days of the week, delivery routes, customer categories (VIP, standard, wholesale), service types (dry cleaning, wet cleaning, alterations), priority levels (express, same-day, standard), or workflow stages. Visual color coding allows staff to sort orders at a glance without reading individual labels, significantly improving efficiency.
Which tape width should I use?
Thermoseal 4635 (1/4 inch) is ideal for compact marking areas, small garments, or situations where discreet labeling is preferred. Thermoseal 8635 (1/2 inch) provides more surface area for customer codes, order numbers, or detailed tracking information and is suitable for most general dry cleaning and laundry applications. Your choice depends on your marking machine model (check compatibility) and the amount of information you need to print on each label.
Will Thermoseal tape damage delicate fabrics?
When applied correctly at 175°C for 2.7 to 4.5 seconds, Thermoseal tape adheres without damaging fabrics. However, avoid applying over dirt-repellent or water-repellent coatings as adhesion may be compromised. Always follow the washing instructions of the underlying textile. The tape removes cleanly after processing without leaving residue or damage when proper heat seal procedures are followed.
How many labels can I get from one 36-meter roll?
The number of labels depends on your marking machine’s label length setting. With typical label lengths of 25 to 50mm, a single 36-meter roll can produce approximately 720 to 1,440 labels. The tape is supplied in packages of 6 rolls per color (total 216 meters per package), providing substantial capacity for high-volume operations.
Does Unicorp supply Thermoseal marking machines?
Yes. Unicorp supplies the complete Thermopatch temporary marking system including Y-151, Y-600, and other Thermoseal marking machines, Thermoseal tape in all colors and widths, ink cassettes, and accessories.
