Hanger tags

A hanger tag is the only piece of paper in a dry cleaning shop that reliably reaches the customer's wardrobe. It goes out on the hanger with the finished garment and it stays there until the garment is worn, which makes it the cheapest place a shop has to say something.

Most of what shops say falls into three groups. A check-box notes tag lets the counter flag what was done or what could not be done. A "Special Attention" tag marks a garment the customer should look at before wearing, which is the honest way to handle a stain that did not lift. A hanger return tag asks for the wire back, which is a real cost line for any shop packing volume.

Premium stock is heavier and takes print more cleanly. It is worth the difference on the tags a customer keeps and not worth it on the ones that go in the bin at home.
