An instruction tag is how the counter talks to the plant. A garment that needs hand finishing, a lower press temperature or a second look at a stain carries the instruction on the item itself rather than in someone's memory or on a sheet that stays at the front.
The tags print with the same ClearType process as the piece and strip book tags, so the instruction is still legible after the garment has been through solvent and heat. That matters here more than on an intake tag, because an instruction tag has to be readable at the point where the work is done, not at the point where it was written.
Boxed tags at 5 by 1 inch carry more text. The roll format at 4 1/4 by 1 inch feeds from a dispenser at the counter, which is quicker where instructions are applied to a high proportion of intake. The English and Spanish printing is a US convention and is listed here because the stock is imported as catalogued.
